All Along The San Juan River Gallery

Lobed Circles, San Juan Anthropomorphic Style Basketmaker images, Archaic Glen Canyon Style 5 images and Spirals above the San Juan River at Butler Wash. The meaning of lobed circles is unclear but it has been suggested that they may represent a uterus, pendants, or possibly a circular pithouse with an entryway. The San Juan Anthropomorphic Style images, also known as San Juan Basketmaker Style, are superimposed over the Glen Canyon Style 5 Archaic images which are small with interior lines (horizontal and/or vertical), round heads and antenna-like headdresses on this panel.
