Salinas Province New Mexico Gallery
The other tribal culture in the Salinas Province was the Southern Tiwa to the north of the Tompiro. Their pueblo was located at Quarai ruin and their painted and pecked images are still present in the canyons nearby. These negative handprints are in Gotera Canyon and were made by blowing paint around a fixed hand. Two other Southern Tiwa Pueblos were at Chilili and Tajique. |
